A Thousand Stories...

A thousand stories...

Having taken a picture of Mino’s hands the other day, it made me think; hands can tell a thousand stories... I started to think of the journey Mino’s hands had been on throughout his life and I found myself being taken on a magical journey through Mino’s history. Mino’s hands came into the world in the 1970’s, in a small fishing village in Sardinia. Growing up, he held the hands of Irene, his Mum, and Salvatore his Dad. Not much later he was holding the hands of his brothers and sister. His growing hands touched the quartz stones and sand on the beaches of his homeland, his hands handmade hundreds of nets for the fisherman in his village and kneaded the dough of the Focaccia and Ciabatta for many bakery customers. As a young gentleman, his hands drove his little, old Fiat Uno to Scotland, leaving his loved ones behind and gaining only an imagination of what life might be like in Scotland; not having yet learned to speak the language. His hands shook the hands of new people, new teachers and new friends, as part of building his new life in Scotland. His hands held mine, his wife, on our wedding day, held our little baby Salvatore, from the moment he was born. His hands, and all of their stories, love and passion, make each and every one of our Mino Pinna candles; so I can’t help but think, you are part of our story...
